As we gather upon this land and ask mother earth to impart upon us her knowledge and wisdom for the answers we seek. We remember and give thanks for the circle of life and remember that all life is interconnected.
We give thanks to the four directions.
To the east, we give thanks for the rising sun. We ask that it light the way on out daily path.
To the south, we give thanks for the warmth and abundance of life and ask that great spirit bless us with it.
To the west, we give thanks for the setting sun and the days end. We give thanks for the lessons and blessings of one day and trust in the new beginnings of another.
To the north, we give thanks for the harsh winds of winter. We give thanks for the lessons of adversity and hardship and the gift of resilience, endurance and patience.
To the lands of WildSparks Forest School, we honour and give thanks to its many families of trees, the birds and their songs, the four winds, the animals as our teachers, the plants and their medicinal and healing properties, the Humber river as it nourishes the land, the sun and its power of life, grandmother moon who lights the night and the stars that remind us of our place in all of creation.
We recognize that the first nations peoples where the original keepers of this land. We will continue to be mindful that these lands were taken, a culture dismantled, and a people misrepresented. We will continue to hold a space for and stand in support of the tremendous healing that continues to ensue.
WildSparks Forest School will continue to be guardians and stewards of this land.
